Vince McMahon "Didn't Understand" This WWE Gimmick
Fans lapped up this gimmick, but WWE boss Vince McMahon just didn't get it.
Former WWE man Fandango has revealed that Vince McMahon "didn't laugh once" when watching his "Fashion Files"/"Fashion Police" segments alongside ex-tag-team partner Tyler Breeze.
Dirty Dango (the name he uses outside WWE) told WrestlingNews that his old boss totally failed to "understand" what he and Breeze were going for. Meanwhile, much to McMahon's confusion, others behind the scenes in WWE found their banter laugh-out-loud hilarious.
It was lost on Vince, but Dango didn't see that as a major problem if the power player was still willing to stick skits on TV; McMahon did, but didn't get references to old TV shows/films, or the general "dry sense of humour" Breezango were going for.
That went right over Vinnie Mac's head.
Dango said that Vince could tell fans were into the segments though, so he was willing to forgo personal taste on that occasion and keep airing them. Realistically, that was never going to last for longer than a few months. Raw and SmackDown were micromanaged by McMahon, after all.
Others backstage popped loudly whenever test runs for the latest segment aired. Meanwhile, Vince just "didn't understand" the appeal.
