Vince McMahon And Triple H Have Different Plans For WWE Universal Championship At WrestleMania 35
Whose idea will WWE go with?
WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon and WWE's Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative Triple H have very different ideas on what should be the Universal Championship match at next year's WrestleMania, according to Give Me Sport.
McMahon's plan sees Braun Strowman defeating Brock Lesnar for the title at the Royal Rumble, leading to a WrestleMania match between Strowman and Drew McIntyre, which Vince allegedly wants McIntyre to win and leave 'Mania as champion.
HHH on the other hand would prefer Lesnar to retain the championship until WrestleMania, where he would face and lose to the incredibly popular Seth Rollins.
Both ideas suggest an interesting next few months in WWE; for McMahon's plan to come to fruition Strowman would return at this Sunday's TLC pay-per-view, defeat Baron Corbin to earn himself a match at the Rumble against The Beast, and presumably for the Scottish Psychopath McIntyre to win the men's Royal Rumble match to lead to their showdown at 'Mania.
Triple H's plan, whilst seemingly more straightforward, would require Rollins to drop the Intercontinental Championship, and casts doubt on Lesnar's projected return to UFC.
Nevertheless, both matches and the lead-up to them sound thrilling, and it looks like we'll be seeing a new Universal Champion crowned at the MetLife Stadium in New York on April 7th...for now.
