Vince McMahon Bails On WWE Raw Early

Backstage update on Vince McMahon leaving WWE Raw early - and who REALLY ran the show.

Vince McMahon left this week's set of WWE Raw tapings in Louisville, Kentucky early, reports PWInsider's Mike Johnson.

It is stated that the company chairman and CEO was present during the daytime, holding what was described as a "capital letters LONG" production meeting prior to Raw, but ended up departing before the show itself. Head of talent relations John Laurinaitis then ran the three-hour broadcast in McMahon's absence.

There is currently no word on why, exactly, Vince opted to leave the tapings early.

Johnson's report notes that there was no sign of Bruce Prichard at the tapings either, hence why Laurinaitis was the man in charge.

The last time Vince missed an episode of Raw was back in early September. Prichard was left to run things on that occasion and while McMahon wasn't in the building, he was still providing feedback and making changes to his former flagship show throughout the night. Whether or not this was the case on this new occasion is currently unclear.

McMahon, 76, remains the driving force behind WWE's operations in 2021, though he is now supported by the likes of Laurinaitis, Prichard, and Nick Khan, who came into the company in 2020.
