10. Vince & Shane McMahon vs. D-Generation X - SummerSlam 2006

The rivalry between the reunited D-Generation X and Vince and Shane McMahon dominated the summer of 2006 and led to a hotly anticipated bout between the two duos at SummerSlam. What appeared to be an obvious mismatch turned out to be much more difficult for Triple H and Shawn Michaels, who found themselves on the receiving end of a beating courtesy of Big Show, Mr. Kennedy and Finlay, all of whom were recruited by the boss and his son to soften up the degenerates. From there, the McMahons dug deep into the history of tag team wrestling in WWE, pulling out double team moves popularized by the Hart Foundation, Demolition and the Road Warriors as they attempted to put away their opponents. Michaels and Triple H exhibited the resiliency that made them multi-time heavyweight champions, however, and overcame the assault of the McMahons and the interference of their minions to win the match. It was far from the end of the feud, though. The war between the McMahons and DX would rage on for another month and culminate in a brutal and violent Hell in a Cell match at Unforgiven in September.
