Wade Barrett Leaving WWE This Summer

The ultimate bad news...

In an exclusive report from ProWrestlingSheet.com, Ryan Satin has broken the news that WWE star Wade Barrett has opted not to renew his WWE contract that expires this summer The reason the purveyor of Bad News seems to be leaving is that he's unhappy with his role and direction in the company. Barrett's current deal reportedly runs out in June or July. Barrett signed with WWE ten years ago before making his main roster debut in 2010 as part of Nexus. Initially, Barrett was used as a main eventer, headlining pay per-views with John Cena and Randy Orton. He was even scheduled to face Undertaker at WrestleMania 27 but WWE had jobbed the Nexus out so much that there was little value left in Barrett for such a marquee spot. Wade would go on to be the leader of the Corre, then brought the Barrett Barrage onto Randy Orton before returning as a bare knuckle fighter. More recently, he became Bad News Barrett where he'd be on a raised podium delivering bad news to fans. Barrett was a multi time Intercontinental Champion and in 2015 won the revived King of the Ring making him King Barrett, but sadly most of those opportunities didn't allow him to move up the card. At 35 years old, there's plenty of time for Barrett to go elswehere and wrestle whether it be in Japan, Europe or in the US.
