WCPW Loaded: 10 Reasons It's Going To Be Awesome

5. The Local Hero

Mark Knopfler wrote 'Going Home' as the theme to the 'Local Hero', a movie documenting a man from Aberdeen standing up to a gas giant taking over his town to make way for a refinery. Peculiarly, the song has become synonymous with WhatCulture's very own Tyneside, and every week NUFC proudly run out to the tune (although pride in playing for Newcastle is somewhat diminished in recent years).

Well, so what? WCPW Loaded emanates from the region, and as fate would have it, there's another 'Local Hero' from Scotland appearing on the show: none other than Joe Hendry. But don't expect him to run out to any Mark Knopfler track. That's not really his style.

No, the guy isn't just a first-rate wrestler - he's a first rate entertainer too, providing all his own theme songs. What does WCPW's resident 'Local Hero' have in store for his entrance at Loaded? Frankly, just thinking about it gives me goosebumps.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
