WCPW Loaded Episode 8: 10 Awesome Moments

9. El Ligero Pushes Joseph Conners To His Limits

What a whirlwind of an evening for El Ligero. Not only did he enter the Kurt Angle Invitational Rumble later in the broadcast, but he could have left Loaded as the new WCPW Heavyweight Champion. Answering the call from Joseph Conners, the 'Mexican Sensation' was ready, willing and able to do anything he could to bag the title.

In the end, it didn't quite happen, but Ligero impressed by pushing Conners to his very limits. Incredibly, even he resorted to whacking his opponent with the WCPW Title, then hitting a big splash from the top rope onto Conners for an agonising near fall.

Sadly for Ligero, the referee had previously been taken out by a menacing Conners moments before. As good as it was for the masked man that the official didn't see his belt shot, the ref also couldn't make the count quickly enough. With that, Ligero watched his title opportunity vanish, he was pinned shortly thereafter.

This can't be the last title shot that El Ligero gets in WCPW. Even though his winning run is now firmly over, he shone mightily.
