After his 2003 in-ring retirement, Mike Rotunda, best known for portraying Irwin R. Schyster, transitioned into a WWE backstage roll. Since 2006, Rotunda worked as a road agent who made cameo appearances on WWE TV. However, after being furloughed during the pandemic, Rotunda was released on 10th September 2020. His in-ring legacy lives on in his sons Windham and Taylor.

Rotunda is due to be inducted in the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame (Class of 2022) alongside Jim Ross and Trish Stratus.
