With Rey Mysterio now confirmed as the first member of the WWE Hall of Fame 2023 class, it's been revealed that Konnan will be the one to induct the Master of the 619 into the WWE HOF.

Via the Los Angeles Times, K-Dawg will be the one inducting his long-time friend into the Hall of Fame during WrestleMania Weekend.

Of course, Konnan is a major favourite of many a WCW fan, with him performing for Ted Turner's promotion from 1996 through until when the promotion was assimilated by WWE in 2001. Prior to that, the hugely charismatic star had made a name for himself in Mexico with AAA and, in particular, CMLL, in addition to working in Japan and elsewhere.

In terms of WWE, Konnan wrestled several matches for the promotion as 1991 rolled into 1992, and '92 saw him briefly take on the Max Moon mantle before he departed the company. After that departure, the Max Moon gimmick would be passed onto Paul Diamond.

The relationship between Konnan and Rey Mysterio is one which dates back several decades, with the pair first becoming friends when Rey was just 11 years of ago. On top of that, Konnan was at one time trained and mentored by Rey Misterio Sr., who is the uncle of Rey.

With the Great Muta and Batista amongst the other names rumoured to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year, that HOF ceremony will take place on Friday 31 March, the night before WrestleMania 39 commences.
