What Bret Hart Told Ric Flair After His Last Match

One WWE legend had something special to tell another after Ric Flair's final match.

Bret Hart and Ric Flair haven't always seen eye-to-eye over the years. In fact, Bret thought Ric was deliberately trying to make him look bad when the pair tussled for WWE's World Title in the early-1990s. They've since become friends though, and Hart was at ringside for Ric's last match in late-July.

The 'Hitman' had a special message for the 'Nature Boy' too.

Bret told legendary wrestling journalist Bill Apter that Flair deserves a ton of praise for "having the guts" to go out there aged 73 and put on a show. Hart realises that this can't have been easy for his buddy, so he wanted to lend support from outside the ring and pass on his congratulations post-match.

The retired 'Hitman' pulled Ric aside at ringside and said he "appreciated what he did and what he was trying to do" during the tag-team match with Andrade El Idolo vs. Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett. Bret added, "I admire that about him".

All he could do was "stand and applaud" Flair for being brave enough to put himself in that situation despite his advanced age.
