What If... Cody Rhodes NEVER Finishes His Story In WWE

Both of the current World Championship straps would also no doubt be devalued in the event of a Rhodes loss in Philadelphia.

Along with the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship continuing on as an accessory in the background whilst The Bloodline's tension continues to bubble for 12 more months, the World Heavyweight Championship would likely continue to feel like the runner's up medal.

After going two years without tasting singles gold, you could just about forgive a desperate Cody for instead turning his attention towards the slightly more attainable "workhorse" World title. But that's still not the greatest look for what WWE have been trying to convince you is an equally prestigious top belt.

There's also no escaping the fact that more main event problems would continue to be created if WWE feel that inevitable Rock vs. Reigns singles showdown needs the company's top prize attached to it.

More super hot babyfaces would need to be fed to 'The Head of the Table' along the way. So, more talents would probably join the likes of LA Knight and Sami Zayn as once-undeniable, potential world champs eaten up and spat out by the former 'Big Dog'.

Rhodes' unlikely rise to becoming the most popular babyface in the company helped change the way many look at the world of sports entertainment, too. Refusing to give this game-changing story the final chapter it deserves then may just have some other nasty side-effects further down the line...
