What They Did Next: WWE 2021 Releases - Part 1

1. Aleister Black

An enigma who stayed silent through most of his NXT undefeated streak, Aleister Black's arrival in the main roster saw him in a closet begging to "pick a fiiiiight!" If that weren't bad enough, the former NXT champion was described like an emo teenager by seemingly-drunken-uncle Michael Cole as "the dark, the edgy, the moody", showing just how little main roster WWE understood Aleister Black's character.

Black was another star on this list whose release was met by a chorus of "What are they even doing?" by fans who knew he'd be snapped up by the opposition, although even they didn't think it would be quite this fast. A clerical error on WWE's part meant that the former Tommy End was only beholden to the 30 day long non-compete clause from his NXT days rather than the standard 90 days given to main roster talents.

And so, when the lights went out on the 7 July episode of Dynamite, nobody expected the newly christened and terrifying Malakai Black to be standing in the ring ready to decimate Arn Anderson and Cody Rhodes.

This one is a loss that WWE will definitely feel.

After hearing that you are what you eat, Mik took a good hard look at his diet and realised he might just be a szechuan spare rib alongside prawn fried rice.
