What Wrestling Legends Really Think Of AEW
7. Jim Cornette
Jim Cornette hates AEW, or at least much of its core, because he is embroiled in a feud with Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks that only he seems particularly interested in now.
This - and Joey Janela's cuck patter - inform Cornette's blinkered hatred of an 'All Petite Wrestling' league that contracts the services of Brodie Lee, Lance Archer, Wardlow, Luchasaurus, and Brian Cage.
Most recently, Cornette has sworn off watching AEW outright, until a letter written by a fan, and not his recent listener numbers, encouraged him to start watching again. He loathed the ring entrance made by Sonny Kiss on Dynamite recently. "What the f*ck. Oh my God. I don't remember seeing Muhammad Ali dancing with the Rockettes before his third fight with Frazier."
Millions saw Prince Naseem Hamed dance to 'Thriller' in one of his famous fights, and it didn't stop him from being great at punching people. It did help him get very rich, however.
Cornette's perspective isn't too imbalanced - "the top guys are always good, the bottom guys always suck," as he put it back in March - but "always suck", translated, is "do sh*t his mind literally rejects".
It's not all in cult member-chasing bad faith. He doesn't bury that to which he is predisposed, just because of the company's initials; like everybody else, he is as high as hell on Jungle Boy, and raves about Cody's work more often than not.
