What WWE Don’t Want You To See On TV
4. The Genuine Reactions For Certain Talents
WWE has been known to use false fan reaction footage to accompany a segment or match, and one thing that the company doesn't want its TV audience to see is the genuine reaction to certain stars - particularly, of course, if that reaction doesn't match the WWE narrative.
For the past year, WWE has been able to construct entirely their own narrative. If they want a superstar to be cheered, that person gets unanimously cheered. If they want somebody booed, that person gets aggressively booed.
That's the joys of having piped-in audience reactions at your fingertips, with the ThunderDome setting and lack of real fans meaning wrestlers have been perceived 100% in the exact same way WWE wants them to be perceived.
When fans are in attendance, though, that is a totally different situation. Even dating back to the days of Hulkamania running wild, brother, WWE has skewed its TV output away from what really happened during a TV taping.
Over the decades, many a purported top babyface - particularly one who has spent years on top - has started to see a once-positive crowd response dwindle to a mixed bag reaction or outright boos, yet you'd never have guessed it from watching WWE programming.
