Could Austin Theory be joining the Vision?

Having not competed since July, there are now some new details on the status of WWE's Austin Theory.

In recent weeks, Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter how there were tentative plans for Theory to join the Vision ahead of the faction being involved in a WarGames match next month at Survivor Series, with Meltzer noting how there had even been talks of having the former WWE United States Champion join the group on last week's Raw. The 28-year-old's presence would have led to CM Punk and Roman Reigns coming together as part of a babyface team for that WarGames bout.

Of course, plans were suddenly changed for the Vision when Seth Rollins suffered a shoulder injury at WWE Crown Jewel in his win over Cody Rhodes, with Rollins being attacked by Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed on last week's Raw as a way to write the Visionary off TV. And so, the future of the Vision is a little unclear right now, as are any WarGames plans for the faction; a faction that now consists of Breakker, Reed, and Paul Heyman.

In an update on Austin Theory's situation, WrestleVotes notes that there are still people in WWE pushing to keep A-Town Down "involved in creative plans", regardless of Rollins' injury, with there still some "internal support" for Theory joining the Bron-Brons and Heyman.

As alluded to, Austin Theory last wrestled on the 19 July WWE Main Event broadcast, where he lost to El Grande Americano. In terms of main WWE programming, the 28-year-old's most recent match was a loss to Sheamus on the 5 May edition of Raw.

Theory is said to have been dealing with an unspecified injury over the summer; something which led to the break-up of the A-Town Down Under tandem, as Grayson Waller announced the tag team is no more, with Grayson instead alligning himself with the New Day.

Given how the Vision is in desperate need of numbers right now, and with Survivor Series: WarGames barely a month away - 29 November, to be precise - if Austin Theory is indeed going to be joining the faction, that could happen imminently. Interestingly, CM Punk and Jey Uso face off for the now-vacant World Heavyweight Title in just over one week at the 1 November Saturday Night's Main Event...
