Which Request Did Tony Khan Turn Down When Chris Jericho Turned Heel?

Chris Jericho had a rather controversial idea turned down by AEW President Tony Khan recently.

As revealed by Le Champion himself during his recent appearance on the Swerve City podcast, not every single idea the wrestling veteran brings to his current boss is instantly given the green-light and pumped onto AEW television.

In fact, on the back of recently turning heel and forming the Jericho Appreciation Society, the former WWE figure actually felt that it was the right time to bin off his original version of the much-loved 'Judas' theme song that often accompanies him to the ring. Khan was having none of it, though (via WrestlingInc):

"When I turned heel and the Jericho Appreciation Society was born, Rich Ward actually came up with a remix of 'Judas'. It's a little bit less sing-a-long-y, and it's different. Tony [Khan] didn't want to do it. He wanted to keep the original song."

Going further on the matter, Jericho clearly sensed where his boss was coming from, with it likely not being that wise to do away with one of the show's most popular themes just for the sake of adding a small layer of detail to a heel character:

"We have something that was organically created by our audience in AEW where they started singing Judas. So, do you want to cut your nose off to spite your face and take away one of the trademarks of our shows just because you're a bad guy?"

At time of writing, 'Judas' has actually shifted 500,000 units, earning Fozzy a gold record in the process. So, it's not too hard to see why Khan isn't in that much of a rush to get rid of arguably the most popular song currently found pumping through his All Elite speakers.
