PWInsider is reporting that whilst no new talents have been officially signed for the officially announced Cruiserweight division as of yet, we can expect some names to be inked in sooner rather than later.

It is also thought that the September 4th live finals of the WWE Cruiserweight Classic will see a new Cruiserweight Champion crowned.

Kota Ibushi and Gran Metalik are thought to be the first to sign, with Cedric Alexander, Zack Sabre Jr., Akira Tozawa, Jack Gallagher and Lince Dorado not far behind. The assumption is also that a number of veteran cruiserweight performers will return to fill out the division, such CWC competitors Brian Kendrick and Tajiri.

After Stephanie McMahon announced that the much-missed Cruiserweight division will return with the brand split, and that it will be exclusive to Monday Night RAW going forward. World Wrestling Entertainment subsequently posted a teaser on their website, albeit one that was laden with buzz phrases such as 'How high will the longest running episodic television show in history soar?' Right.

Will the final (to date) Cruiserweight Champion Hornswoggle return to defend his retired championship? All jokes aside, Akira Tozawa vs. Hornswoggle sounds like a lot of fun...
