Which WWE Legend Inspired MJF's Scarf?

No, it wasn't Chris Jericho...

MJF told Newsday the simple reason why he decided to wear a plaid scarf to the ring when he became a pro wrestler.

According to the motor-mouthed AEW heel (who was joined by his parents for the interview), it was none other than 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper who inspired the wardrobe choice. That Burberry plaid scarf is MJF's own little tribute towards Roddy's 'Piper's Pit' and how much the segment meant to him as a kid.

Before revealing exactly who he was talking about when telling how one man in particular made him sit up and take notice, MJF said, "I found this guy whose feet were up on the desk. He was chomping on gum real loud - you could tell he was talking to someone that was his boss, but he didn’t seem to care".

That'd be the iconic 'Hot Rod'.

"Once I saw Roddy Piper I knew exactly what I was going to be doing when I grew up", he added. So, there you go. Piper influenced MJF beyond his heelish mannerisms, promo style and ring work. He also led the AEW man to wear a plaid scarf in honour of his hero.
