Me and My Shadow almost didn't make the cut!

None other than MJF himself was the star behind the idea to sing and dance through his "Le Dinner Debonair" segment with Chris Jericho on the latest epsidoe of Dynamite, according to the Wrestling Observer Radio.

Despite this week's show boasting an epic Rey Fenix Vs Penta El Zero M encounter, Kenny Omega returning to his dominant singles ways and a spectacular tag team main event, much of the attention coming out of Wednesday night was focused on MJF and Jericho's rendition of Me and My Shadow midway through a steak dinner.

Now, it's being reported that the former was the driving force behind the idea. MJF had recently watched Rocketman, the Elton John musical biopic, and even wanted to use one of the Brit's songs in the skit. However, Jericho felt Me and My Shadow was a better fit, with Dave Meltzer speculating that it was chosen due to its corniness.

It was also noted that the segment was only finished 22 minutes before Dynamite aired, after rehearsals, shooting and the further ten hours needed to mix and produce the bit were completed.
