Who Came Up With Shane McMahon's "Best In The World' Entrance?

Put Greg Hamilton on the spot and he delivers...

Shane McMahon

In an interview with Wrestling Inc, SmackDown ring announcer Greg Hamilton revealed how his epic "Best In The Wooooooooooorld" introduction for Shane McMahon first came about last year.

According to Greg, he was rehearsing in the ring before WrestleMania 35 when Road Dogg and Jeff Jarrett asked to hear the biggest "Best In The World" call he had. Indulging them, Hamilton belted out the line for a good 20-30 seconds and left everyone around ringside speechless.

As soon as he was finished, Road Dogg asked if he'd be able to replicate that before Shane's match with The Miz later that night. Greg said he could, and the call went on to become a super-important part of McMahon's heel entrance all summer.

It's slightly surprisingly to learn that Shane wasn't behind it himself. In fact, he had nothing to do with it at all, and didn't hear Greg's big moment until he was making his way to the ring for his 'Falls Count Anywhere' brawl.

Hamilton was put on the spot by two legends and delivered when he could easily have palmed off their suggestion due to nerves. What a worker.
