The WWE United States Championship was up for grabs in a show-opening match on Raw Monday night, with Bobby Lashley defending his title against Seth Rollins.

After 20 minutes of solid action, Lashley walked away with his title intact, having caught a distracted Rollins with a spear for the pin.

Rollins used a series of counters and his speed and agility to counter Lashley's strength and athleticism, at one point catching a spear attempt with a Pedigree. However, Seth couldn't force his way out of a Hurt Lock later on, relying on a low blow to get free. He fell victim to a distraction from Matt Riddle, which led directly to his defeat.

Lashley's reign continues, now closing in on his third month with the title, as he (and Triple H booking it) restores some credibility and lustre to this midcard title. He's defeated the likes of the Miz, AJ Styles, Ciampa and Theory along the way. There's no word about who's next for the All Mighty, but Extreme Rules is coming up...
