Why AEW Pulled Adam Cole From This Week's Dynamite
Backstage update on Tony Khan pulling Adam Cole from big AEW Dynamite match this week.
Adam Cole and Jeff Hardy were both pulled from tonight's episode of AEW Dynamite shortly after Double Or Nothing 2022, where it had been announced the duo would be on opposite sides of a 10-man tag pitting the Undisputed Elite against The Hardys, Luchasaurus, Jungle Boy, and Christian Cage.
Having initially booked the 10-man, AEW removed Cole and Hardy and started promoting an eight-man on Monday. Hikuleo of Bullet Club and Darby Allin have since been drafted in as Adam and Jeff's respective replacements, bringing the numbers back up.
Speaking on the latest Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez stated that Cole is hurt at the moment, hence why he was taken off Dynamite. There is currently no word on the severity of his issues or how long he will be absent for.
Hardy, meanwhile, was reportedly a "mess", physically, at Double Or Nothing, entering The Hardys' match with The Young Bucks already banged up from a recent Dynamite contest opposite Allin.
Cole also competed at Double Or Nothing, defeating Samoa Joe to win AEW's first Owen Hart Cup men's tournament. He and real-life partner Britt Baker (who took the women's competition) were later presented with their commemorative belts and trophy by Dr. Martha Hart.
