It's official: Bryan Danielson is a masochist.

Seriously though, it is interesting to learn that the current AEW super-worker actually "enjoyed" WWE's creative processes during his lengthy stint in the promotion. Danielson told 'The Masked Man Show' that he got a kick out of working under stringent limitations in Vince McMahon's league.

That forced him to get even more creative than he might've been without them, and meant he had to forge key connections with several overworked writers behind the scenes; Bryan specifically told the podcast all about his friendship with a creative team member called Robert.

Together, they crafted much of his "Planet's Champion" run as WWE Champ.

Danielson adored that character, and he loved coming up with ideas for it along with Robert. Backstage, they "bounced ideas off each other really well", never argued about where things should go and generally had a blast coming up with all sorts of heel moments for Bryan.

AEW's system is a little more open-ended creatively, but Danielson admits he prefers "collaboration more so than just [saying], 'Here’s my thing!'. Of course, he's thriving in Tony Khan's company too.
