Why Chelsea Green Missed WWE Raw This Week

WWE ran a clever travel storyline to cover for Chelsea Green's Raw absence, BUT...

Chelsea Green was missing from this week's WWE Raw, which the company acknowledged on television, running an angle featuring the recent returnee being sent to Ottawa, Illinois rather than Ottawa, Canada, where the event was held. This was to cover a real-life situation that legitimately prevented Green's attendance.

Fightful Select reports that Green is currently landlocked, which prevents her from returning to her native Canada for the time being. This has been the case since last summer.

Chelsea is awaiting a green card that will enable her to work in Canada again. Until then, she is landlocked in the United States, which is why WWE had to explain her absence during Monday's show.

Green has been back on WWE screens since 28 January, when she returned as part of that night's women's Royal Rumble. It was a short evening's work for Chelsea, who was dumped out of the bout in a record five seconds, though she has since retained a steady presence on company television, becoming an administrative headache for authority figure Adam Pearce.

WWE had previously released Green as part of its pandemic era cuts in April 2021. Her last match came on SmackDown's 10 February episode, where she and Sonya Deville were beaten by Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.
