Why Hulk Hogan Was Really Nervous About The Outsiders Coming To WCW

The Hulkster was keeping tabs on The Kliq pre-nWo...

Eric Bischoff detailed why Hulk Hogan was nervous about WCW signing Kevin Nash and Scott Hall on his '83 Weeks' podcast. According to Bisch, Hulk wasn't sure about bringing in either man because of stories he'd heard from buddies still working in the WWF.

There, Nash and Hall were part of 'The Kliq', and they'd been running rampant.

Hogan wasn't exactly thrilled about the prospect of some big personalities coming into WCW and diluting his influence. He was also keenly aware of the way Nash and Hall (along with Shawn Michaels) had been throwing their weight around backstage in the WWF.

Things eventually worked themselves out, and Bischoff's vision helped Hulk see the bigger picture. He'd turn heel, form the nWo alongside both incomers and shake up the entire pro wrestling biz by doing so. None of that would've been possible had Hogan been content to continue playing 80s babyface to the (increasingly impatient) masses.

This story shows how close Hulk kept his ear to the ground. Despite being a busy dude in WCW, he wanted to keep tabs on things that were happening over in his old stomping ground under Vince McMahon's watch.
