Why Kenny Omega & Nick Jackson Missed AEW Dynamite This Week

Where in the world were Omega and the younger Jackson brother?

Elite members Kenny Omega and Nick Jackson were both conspicuous by their absence from this week's AEW Dynamite, with neither man joining their stablemates for a post-match brawl with The Inner Circle after Jake Hager's victory over QT Marshall.

Dave Meltzer had notes on both on the most recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio and today's Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Nick's wife is on the verge of giving birth to their third child, with his and brother Matt's Revolution match against Omega and Hangman Page always earmarked as his last until the baby arrived. Wednesday night saw AEW's announcers offer the explanation that Jackson is injured.

Omega, meanwhile, suffered a broken little finger in the Revolution bout, following on from reports that he was "all banged up" at the pay-per-view.

Even without these real-world explanations, keeping the duo away from television was beneficial as it helped sell the damage done in the tag match. That bout was nuts. As rich and story-driven as it was, the performers put their bodies through hell out there, so having them stay at home helps put that damage over as the bout continues to draw acclaim from all corners of the AEW fanbase.
