Why The Rock Will Miss WWE WrestleMania 32
Triple H's dream main event scuppered by Baywatch.
The Rock will be shooting the new Baywatch movie in March and April, and that's why his WWE WrestleMania 32 match with Triple H was scuppered. F4Wonline reports that it has been known for some time that Baywatch would stop Rock working a match on the April 3 spectacular, but WWE may yet work out a way for him to appear in some fashion. The Baywatch movie is shooting in Georgia, so there's definitely scope for getting Rock over to Dallas, Texas on the day of Mania. The original plan, before Rock became engaged in the Baywatch role, was that he'd wrestle Triple H at WrestleMania 32. WWE had it all worked out as far back as last autumn, with The Rock appearing on Smackdown to play up tensions with The Game. They then shot the sensational segment at WrestleMania 31, which also included Rock's friend and business associate (they share the same agent) Ronda Rousey. At that point, it looked like WWE were working on booking Rock and Rousey versus Triple H and Stephanie McMahon at Mania 32. As it happened, not only did Rock end up committing to a filming gig next April, but Rousey was also booked on a film shoot in Indonesia for Road House. Even if she wasn't filming, UFC President Dana White was probably going to block Rousey wrestling for WWE. Hunter looked to Seth Rollins as a replacement when Rock dropped out, but that then fell through when the WWE Champion's knee injury ruled him out for nine months. It now looks like it could be Roman Reigns versus Triple H on April 3, either that or Hunter doesn't wrestle at all on the show.
