Why Triple H And Vince McMahon Are Destined For A Huge Fallout
Paul Levesque is of course Vince McMahon's son-in-law.
He isn't a Bruce Prichard, John Laurinaitis or Pat Patterson - a man who you could never see Vince falling out with, but did. He's family. Of course, that Vince has since reconciled with two of his old lieutenants suggests that he'll fall under the spell of a Triple H power play in about five years; as with so much else in WWE, it's all cyclical. But Vince once sacked his own daughter from creative and for now, surely, a bust-up is imminent. Everything is converging towards one of the wilder news stories of the entire century.
This recent display of active remonstration follows years and years of suppressed anger on Triple H's part. How much Triple H actually did, to get NXT acts over that were already over, is the subject of much debate. In his mind, he has dedicated his entire executive career to this vision. He couldn't have been happy in 2017, much less in 2021, and resentment has a way of building up into a seismic explosion. NXT is Triple H's identity, and Vince just told him it was a pathetic, "midget"-laced failure. Perhaps AEW's ability to promote an actual metaller wrestler in Malakai Black might just push him over the edge-uh.
The "regional globalisation" gimmick has also failed and it failed before the COVID-19 pandemic struck; NXT UK tapings played out to empty seats and every notable Japanese promotion told WWE in no uncertain terms that NXT Japan simply wasn't viable.
