Why WALTER Won't Go To WWE's Main Roster
WWE wants the big man on Raw or SmackDown.
WWE reportedly wants NXT UK standout and United Kingdom Champion WALTER on Raw or SmackDown, but the big Austrian isn't playing ball.
This is according to Dave Meltzer on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio. He claims that while the promotion would love to have WALTER on what would traditionally be referred to as the "main roster," the 32-year-old still hasn't eased off on his stance on relocating.
WALTER has previously claimed that he doesn't want a full-time spot on one of WWE's American brands as he doesn't want to live in the United States and would prefer to stay in Europe, hence why he features primarily on NXT UK, crossing the Atlantic for the odd Full Sail University taping here and there. Even with Raw and SmackDown calling, his position remains the same.
'Der Ringgeneral' is currently inactive thanks to the ongoing global health crisis, which has prevented him from travelling out of Europe. With NXT UK on ice, he can't work at the moment, meaning he hasn't wrestled for close to four months.
Unquestionably one of the best big men in the sport, it's easy to see why WWE would want WALTER on primetime. For now, he isn't budging.
