Why WWE Needs To Hire The ENTIRE Kliq For NXT

Scott Hall and Kevin Nash were considered pariahs long before they unleashed what an in-character Vince McMahon later referred to as a "poison" into the WCW locker room, but debate rages to this day as to just how much of their supposed backstage clout was based on the mistrust of others rather than an actual 'in' with McMahon himself.

The wrestling business was in the bin for almost the entirety of their respective WWE tenures, but Hall, Nash and the rest of The Kliq were canny enough to spot how useful it might be to have the Chairman's trust and respect even if it meant absorbing the alienation of others. They had more than enough going for them to keep it too. Only Bret Hart and The Undertaker (who, not-that-coincidentally were substantially more popular with the locker room) had the talent, tact or both to compete with the crew for McMahon's affections as his company hit the skids.

Nash had proved himself extraordinarily able in there with the right opponent, and said "right" opponent was often one of his ultra-talented mates willing to massage the perception. The charismatic seven-footer had enough of the tools far as McMahon was concerned, and in he went as WWE Champion for nearly a whole year in 1995. Next-in-line Shawn Michaels was having the best wrestling matches in the entire world when he could be a*sed, Razor Ramon was only below Bret as the company's most dependable all-rounder, whilst The 1-2-3 Kid was a human litmus test for every single talent that spun through Titan Tower's revolving door at the time.

Hesitant as they were to consider it control, The Kliq knew they had influence and that almost certainly helped steer their own interests even if they weren't sabotaging those of others. This very same quartet could now use their once-manipulative powers entirely for good, particularly if it serves the needs of the man that once served theirs.
