Why WWE Squashed Bayley On Last Night's Raw
Speaking on today's Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer suggested the heavy defeat could be part of a process to switch the blighted Bayley over to the dark side, noting both Banks' absence and subtle signs of aggression on the part of the loser. A heel turn for The Hugger could well herald a fresh dawn for the stuttering superstar, but the finger has been on this particular trigger for some time, with reports every few weeks suggesting a shift in alignment to restore her stumbling career.
At this point, it feels more like gradually lapsed fans searching for answers as to Bayley's complete and utter mishandling, the primary question being: how have the company made such a colossal arse of a pre-made babyface hero? Surely it's by design, and not incompetence?
Not likely.
Any hope of the former Davina Rose becoming an object of adulation for the masses are well and truly over, and Bayley probably knows it. The subtle ratcheting of her in-ring violence is unlikely to be a manifestation of off-screen frustrations spilling over - Bayley has too much respect for the business for that - but it's understandable if she's utterly embittered with her constant misuse.
