Why WWE Was Just Taught A Very Serious Lesson

Nikki ASH
WWE.com

More recently, Nikki ASH is a one-dimensional character who by definition is almost a winner. She is also a World Champion (!). The game is gone, and every hope that it isn't fades more quickly than a Kevin Dunn camera cut. WWE are just waiting for fans to return to make moves. Here's Goldberg to say "You're next" and the same matches underneath. John Cena's back, and it's loud, and it's moving the needle. And he's burying Roman Reigns for not doing that, calling him "lifeless".

Bobby Lashley, Nikki ASH, Apollo Crews, Sheamus, Rey & Dominik Mysterio, AJ Styles & Omos, Natalya & Tamina: all of these performers did jobs in July. All of these performers held main roster gold at the time. There are nine main roster titles in total, excluding the 24/7 Championship. The 24/7 title was excluded from that stat because it is an obvious joke of a title, but then, aren't the others at this point?

Underneath this apathetic brochure lies a more sinister approach to promotion. For too many years - we've just passed the 10-year anniversary - WWE has told its audience that WWE is bad. It's astonishing. WWE is a bad wrestling promotion in canon just as CM Punk revealed on June 27, 2011. It's not just Cena. Last year, RETRIBUTION attempted to rage against the WWE machine. It was a woeful and hilarious challenge, yes, but the existence of the stable had dire implications. They were pissed off at the company's institutional apathy and incompetence. Mustafa Ali still feels this way, and is presently guiding Mansoor past the landmines. In canon. WWE has depicted itself as a heel company for a decade and is both telling and showing you that it is not worth the emotional investment.
