For the next couple of years, WWF's choice in terms of wrestling was to be found in ‘Mania's midcard. Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart's Iron Man Match was the only main event one could consider the best on the calendar. Meanwhile, four midcard matches, Bret Hart vs Owen Hart, Razor Ramon vs Shawn Michaels, Shawn Michaels vs Diesel and Bret Hart vs Steve Austin, share a combined six PWI/WON Match of The Year awards between them, as well as two Meltzer five-star ratings, the first ones in the company's history.
