Kevin Owens' recent WWE injury may yet rule him out of a planned role at Survivor Series 2022 (26 November), but the former Universal Champion is expected to remain on the road with the promotion regardless.

PWInsider's Mike Johnson reports despite suffering a suspected MCL sprain while competing at a house show last weekend, KO is scheduled to not only be at tonight's SmackDown show, but every taping heading into next Saturday's premium live event.

Dave Meltzer confirmed Owens' sprained MCL earlier this week. Later, he reported that WWE had big things in mind for KO prior to the injury, marking him as a potential surprise entrant in Survivor Series' men's WarGame match. Currently, the match is due to pit The Bloodline against The Brawling Brutes, Drew McIntyre, and one still-to-be-named participant.

Now, in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer reports that Owens has been rehabilitating his knee at the WWE Performance Center. Unfortunately, KO "was not moving well."

Whether or not he will make it to Survivor Series should become clearer soon. WWE was due to reveal the fifth man on the babyface WarGames side on tonight's SmackDown. If WWE thinks Kevin will be ready to go by next Saturday, they could get him involved tonight.
