Will Ospreay has been forced to sit out of today's G1 Climax event due to an apparent neck injury. He had been scheduled for a six-man tag match alongside Yuja Uemura & Yota Tsuji against Kota Ibushi, Shota Umino & Jushin Liger in Hokkaido.

New Japan Pro Wrestling released the following statement ahead of the show:

Will Ospreay has suffered a neck injury and will miss action on Monday July 15 in Hokkaido.
Ospreay is not suffering from any skeletal or nervous issues. His status for the next G1 Climax event on Thursday July 18 will be determined after Ospreay undergoes thorough medical evaluation.

They went on to apologise to fans for the change in card, before announcing a replacement tag match, which sees Kota Ibushi & Jushin Liger take on Shota Umino & Yota Tsuji.
