Will Ospreay Responds To Triple H's "Running From The Grind" Comments (AEW News)
AEW's Ospreay addresses THOSE comments directed towards WWE boss Triple H.

Will Ospreay has addressed prior comments from WWE boss Triple H saying he was afraid of "the grind". 'The Game' didn't outright name Ospreay, but the AEW star is 100% sure the remark was directed at him for choosing to sign with Tony Khan over inking a deal with the market leader. In turn, Will fired back on All Elite flagship show Dynamite by saying Hunter only got to his current position by "grinding on the boss’s daughter".
That created some uproar and headlines, as you'd expect.
Now, Ospreay has told Chris Van Vliet's 'Insight' show that he's "not taking it personally" at all. He claims the Dynamite promo was akin to, "You take a jab at me, I’ll take one back". Will is currently one of the most lively stars on the AEW roster, and he could be considered in some circles as one of the best wrestlers in the world.
However, the Brit says Trips didn't "hurt [his] feelings", and that there was "nothing horrible" or mean spirited about his TV rebuttal. Ospreay believes he was simply firing back with a bit of edge to keep things interesting and get people talking. That certainly worked, but select critics lambasted AEW for continuing to talk about WWE on core programming.
The drama continued when Ospreay hit a pedigree on someone impersonating Triple H at a Pro-Wrestling: EVE card in early-February. He was then eliminated from the 'Multiverse Rumble' by somebody else cosplaying Hunter's brother-in-law Shane McMahon.
Ospreay Didn't Talk To Triple H Personally

Ospreay also revealed during his chat with Van Vliet that he's "never met" Triple H before, or even really spoken with him. During negotiations as a free agent, Will "got an agency to talk to everyone", so he wasn't present for conversations either face to face or over the phone/via camera. On potential beef with Hunter, Ospreay offered: "I don’t hate the guy. I’ve never met him. How can I hate someone that I’ve never even met?".
That piqued Van Vliet's interest. He asked if Will had ever spoken to Trips at all and Ospreay said no; "I’ve told everybody about my situation and why I want to remain in the UK, which is why [his comments] kind of hurt me a little bit, but not to the point where it keeps me up at night".
Regarding the 'Multiverse Rumble' spot on a UK indy show, Ospreay said it was something thrown together quickly that afternoon once he realised somebody was dressing up as Hunter in the match. "I went I’ve got to do it now, haven’t I?", he said. When quizzed on why it was a must, Will added: "Because it’s funny, and if anyone doesn’t think it’s funny then I can’t tell you what your humour is, but my humour is...this is hilarious. I’m going to do it".
Ospreay is scheduled to wrestle real-life friend and ex-stablemate Kyle Fletcher in a steel cage grudge match at AEW Revolution 2025 on Sunday 9 March. The card will be headlined by Jon Moxley defending his AEW World Title vs. Cope.
