WrestleMania 36's Early Numbers Are "Shockingly Low"

Google searches were seriously down for the two night extravaganza.

Night Two of WrestleMania 36, leading into Monday, earned just 270,000 searches on Google trends. This has been described as beyond shockingly low by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

WrestleMania is usually expected to boast 3-4 million searches on Google and the Observer reported that both nights should have been capable of posting those numbers.

Night One of the event managed to garner 1 million searches on Google, which was significantly more than Night Two's total. This is notable as WWE PPV's are traditionally aired on a Sunday, but in this case the Saturday show outscored the following night's number.

When that dreadful 270,000 Night Two score is dissected further, it doesn't make for pretty reading. A mere 50,000 of those searches were for WrestleMania itself, 100,000 were for new NXT Women's Champion Charlotte Flair, Drew McIntyre roped in 50,000 searches after winning the WWE title, John Cena's appearance in the Firefly Fun House match earned another 50,000 and Mandy Rose pulled in 20,000.

This is yet another piece of evidence to suggest that WWE's Performance Center shows aren't currently landing with their fans. When their biggest night of the year can't force a sizeable amount of people to talk about the company, WWE's future doesn't look good in this current global situation.
