Wrestlers With The Most World Titles (Across All Major Federations)
15. The Rock (10)
8 WWE Championships
2 WCW Championships
We said earlier Steve Austin spent six years at the top and won six world titles. Well that's one area in which he's unequivocally smackdowned by his great rival: The Rock's entire full-time career lasted six years, and he came out of it a nine-time world champion.
That's one hell of a main event push, but Rocky was a once-in-a-lifetime (emphasis on the once) performer. Ever since he switched his Rocky Maivia's afro for his Rock's sunglasses, there was no stopping the overflow of charisma. Few if any people in the history of the industry could touch Rocky on the mic. His every utterance became a catchphrase, his every facial expression was instantly iconic. And as if being one of most funny and entertaining mic workers of all time wasn't enough, he was also a superb pro wrestler inside the ring.
More than fifteen years afterwards, The Rock remains one of the most beloved wrestlers on the planet. The idea of CM Punk's year-long WWE Championship reign ending at the hands of a part-timer is what hardcore fans' nightmares were made of, and only Rocky could manage to actually *get a pop* doing so. All this love is obviously due to his wrestling legacy, but has probably something to do with his making it big in the entertainment world as well. His down-to-earth lovable personality coupled with his great wit and unbelievable charm make him a dream ambassador for WWE and wrestling as a whole. Anytime he blesses a talk show with his presence or headlines an upcoming blockbuster, wrestling fans can be proud to say: "That's one of our guys."
