Wrestlers With The Most World Titles (Across All Major Federations)
35. Adam Pearce (6)
5 NWA Championships
1 PWG World Championship
If you're only into WWE, Adam Pearce is this nameless backstage official, who for some reason was handed a one night promotion as an authority figure on a January episode of SmackDown, and set up a match for Bayley against Lacey Evans.
The stuff of legends, right ? Well in fact yes, it's an indie legend you have right there. It's worth noting Pearce was the second ever PWG World Champion, but the important story here is that he was the centrepiece of NWA in the post-TNA years, Nick Aldis being his only rival in that regard. When NWA ended their business relations with Orlando in 2007, Pearce was trusted to carry the company into its new era of independence, replacing a certain Bryan Danielson in the final of the Reclaiming The Glory Tournament and winning the title for the first time. He would regain possession of it four times afterwards, with a combined reigns total clocking in at over a thousand days.
There's no denying Pearce's legacy in NWA, and in 2015, he was rightfully inducted into their Hall of Fame. That's probably the only Hall of Fame he'll be inducted in though.
