Wrestling Timelines: The Ministry Of Darkness

18. Steve Austin And Kane Bury The Undertaker Alive (December 13, 1998)

Following his crucifixion, Austin defeated The Undertaker at In Your House: Rock Bottom in a Buried Alive Match. The bout was the main event of the pay-per-view, something which had become the norm whenever Austin and Undertaker faced one another. Aided by Kane, 'The Rattlesnake' had apparently vanquished his rival. In truth, this was simply a way for the WWF to briefly write The Undertaker off of television so that he could return with several tweaks to his character. This is where the 'Lord Of Darkness' era began.
