6. Molly Holly

Molly Holly is better remembered for her heel Women’s Champion runs, in which shorter, darker hair made her evil, and as Mighty Molly, The Hurricane’s super-sidekick. Yet, as the on-screen cousin of Crash and Hardcore Holly, she won not only fans' hearts, but also the runt of the Dudley clan.

In a surprisingly successful spin on the star-crossed lovers trope, Spike and Molly’s relationship blossomed amid a rivalry between his storyline brothers and her kayfabe cousins. The couple’s wholesome romance didn’t spread to those around them, who continued to brawl across family lines. As expected in any Dudley rivalry, tables were aplenty. In a memorable gesture of love and self-sacrifice, Spike lay across a table to stop his brothers smashing Molly through it.

Spike Dudley’s gimmick was as the perpetual underdog, short in stature and easily disregarded. While Molly didn’t lead Spike to championship victory, she made his plight sympathetic and gave him a rare victory over life.

Molly commented on the pairing:

“It was fun to have acting skits and the things that the fans could get involved with, get behind, root for. So my Disney romance with Spike Dudley was by far one of my favorite things in my time with the [WWE].”
