WWE: 10 Awesome Shawn Michaels Matches (That Nobody Talks About)

9. Shawn Michaels vs Bret Hart - Survivor Series 1992

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YpJddNlGjxc It doesn't take a Damien Sandow to realise why people would overlook this early episode of one of wrestling's most famous rivalries. Their 1997 Survivors match sits alongside Andre vs Hogan as one of the most famous matches of all time for all the wrong reasons. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, you must be new to all this. Hello there, if I were you I'd start with Wrestlemania 17 and work around that. Enjoy the journey and don't let the IWC put you off too much. One thing that people tend to forget due to the Montreal nonsense, perhaps because Bret Hart never stops talking about it, is that their 1997 match wasn't very good. It wasn't terrible, but it's hard to imagine Hart/Michaels dropping below decent, even if Hart was mid-stroke and Michaels had just come off a three day bender with Scott Hall. Their '92 effort on the other hand was the type of slow, satisfying match Hart made his bread and butter. The kind you rarely see in WWE these days. Indeed, watching the first ten minutes will probably leave modern fans twitching their thumbs towards the fast-forward button for the chair shots that never arrive. But with patience comes great wrestling and this delivers in spades. For me though, this match will always be remembered as the first chapter in a flawed but brilliant world title trilogy between arguably the two greatest wrestlers of the 90's.

I've been writing since I was fourteen and thought it might get girls to like me. It didn't. I should have learned guitar instead.
