9. Legion Of Doom (2003)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-YV4QFei1U Like the Rockers would after them, the Legion of Doom returned to WWE for one night only in 2003 as the mystery opponents for World Tag Team champions Rob Van Dam and Kane. It was the first time fans had seen Animal and Hawk together as a team in nearly five years and the fans in Philadelphia greeted them with the respect and admiration that the all-time great team deserved. They would deliver a very solid performance, proving they could still go with two opponents in their primes. Van Dam and Kane would retain their titles but it was the challengers that received most of the recognition. Sadly, Hawk (real name Michael Hegstrand) would pass away seven months later following a heart attack. It was a tremendously sad end for a man who had tuned his life around and, from all accounts, was as happy as he had ever been. The sudden and unfortunate passing only highlights how important that one last go-round for the original Legion of Doom was and how great it was for the legendary tough guy to bask in the adulation of the WWE audience for the final time.
