9. Elimination Chamber 2011
Edge defeats Rey Mysterio, Wade Barrett, Drew McIntyre, Big Show and Kane to retain the World Heavyweight Championship http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Oho_2Yr8AE This would be one of the last title defenses for Edge before he was forced to retire due to chronic neck pain that was likely caused by participating in matches like these. Two parts of this match stick out at me the most. The first involved Drew McIntyre, who was extremely vicious in this match, throwing Rey through the plexiglass and kicking the hell out of people. I remember a lot of people talking about how this would be the start of Drews big push, and here we are four years later, and hes still toiling in 3MB. At least hes employed though, right? The second thing I loved about this match was that the two wrestlers who started the match, Edge and Rey Mysterio, were the two wrestlers who finished, something that has only happened one other time in Elimination Chamber history. In a match thats designed to favor bigger men, seeing Rey make it to the finals (twice!) is really cool.
