10. Elimination Chamber 2012
CM Punk defeats Dolph Ziggler, Chris Jericho, The Miz, Kofi Kingston and R-Truth to retain the WWE Championship http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eogws0y80-Q Believe it or not, R-Truth has been in three Elimination Chamber matches, which is a tie for 10th most all time appearances with guys like The Undertaker and Rey Mysterio. Two of those matches are on the list, including this one. What I liked about this match was the fact that these were all small guys (relatively speaking, of course), which at the time were representing a change in philosophy that it didnt matter how big you were. If you could work and were over enough with the fans, you deserved to be at the top. It helped matters that John Cena was already slated to face The Rock in the Wrestlemania main event, so the title scene on Raw didnt have to be bogged down with Cenas presence, allowing guys like Dolph Ziggler start to make their climb toward the top. The array of talent in the match allowed for unique spots, including Punk and Kingston attempting to fly at Ziggler at the same time, only to have Dolph move out of the way at the last minute and allow Punk and Kofi to crash into each other, spawning this awesome GIF. What I enjoyed the most about this night was that both CM Punk and Daniel Bryan retained their titles (which wasnt a complete lock), allowing the Ring of Honor alumni to walk into Wrestlemania with the top two titles in WWE. If this was the year 2005 and you told me that would happen seven years down the road, Id try to have you committed.
