4. Hulk Hogan
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLtVoj9QlCY Sometimes I get sad thinking about Hulk Hogan. When I was a kid, I thought he was the best wrestler of all time. I remember when my parents bought me one of his T-shirts for my birthday. I thought it was the best present I ever got. Now that I'm older (and so is Hogan), Hogan's real-life shenanigans have chipped away at his once great image. But while we can critique Hogans "wrestling" abilities or judge him for the decisions he's made in real life, there is no denying the effect and impact of his entrance. For starters, I will proudly admit that Hogans entrance music is still on my phone. As a matter of fact, its set as one of my best friends ringtone just so I can hear it every day. Granted, by todays standards the lyrics are kind of cheesy And yet one of my biggest regrets is not being able to see Hogan Hulks entrance in the 80s. First, Hogan would erupt from behind the curtain with his bulging 24 inch pythons. Hed wildly point at the crowd and point at his opponent screaming about how Hulkamania was running wild. The crowd would be going CRAZY as the WWEs de facto 1980's theme song played: I am a real American, fight for the rights of every man. I am a real American, fight for whats right, fight for your life! And then, just when you think it couldn't get better, Hogan would get in the ring shaking like a possessed child, and scream up at God. Hogan would roll his wrist and make the crowd rise to their feet and scream like never before. Hed do his three famous muscle poses, save the day, and leave the arena as a living breathing Superman. His life may have taken a downturn but it would be impossible to expect a man as beloved as Hulk Hogan was, to maintain the God like status he had 25 years ago. At least we can look back at his matches and enjoy one of the greatest entrances of all time.
