WWE: 10 Best Ladder Matches Ever

8. SmackDown Money In The Bank - Money In The Bank 2011

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xp80mw_money-in-the-bank-2011-smackdown-ladder-match_sport With the opportunity to earn a guaranteed shot at the World Heavyweight Championship at any time over the next year, eight of the top stars from Friday Night SmackDown met in the immensely popular Money in the Bank Ladder match in July of 2011. Daniel Bryan, Wade Barrett, Justin Gabriel, Heath Slater, Sin Cara and Cody Rhodes vied for the opportunity to take the next step to the top of the industry while former heavyweight champions Kane and Sheamus looked for a return to glory. Opening the night's show, there was immense pressure on them to deliver a match that would get the crowd hot for the remainder of the night's festivities. They did just that. Sheamus eliminated Sin Cara from the match after driving him through a ladder with the Celtic Cross off the ring apron. The interactions between Barrett, Slater and Gabriel, former teammates in both Nexus and The Corre, were very well done and gave the match some steak to go with the proverbial sizzle. Barrett was a strong favorite to win given the substantial push he had received just months earlier but it was the small, persistent Aberdeen native Bryan that fended off the tough, gritty British competitor to win the match. Bryan would go on to capture the World Heavyweight Championship at TLC in December. As champion he would undergo a character change that saw him become an annoying villain who used girlfriend AJ Lee to his advantage. More importantly, it was under that persona that Bryan adopted a chant that he would use to grate the nerves of the audience. That chant? "YES!" The rest is history.
