5. Cactus Jack Debuts In WWE

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2ohpJkHp-U In 1997, Foley was wrestling as Dude Love and was feuding with Hunter Hearst Helmsley, and the two were booked for a Falls Count Anywhere match on Raw in September. As the audience awaited Dude's arrival, he appeared on the screen, saying FCA matches "weren't exactly his bag". He then bought out Mankind, one of Foleys other gimmicks, and the two debated for a while, before deciding that the mythical Cactus Jack should do it. At the mere mention of that name, the audience came unglued. Hunter sold the hell out of it as well, exhibiting what looked like genuine fear at the pronouncement. The match itself was brilliant, a short burst of hardcore violence that delighted the New York audience. Foley would then compete primarily as Cactus Jack for a short while before retiring the character in April of '98. However, the retirement was to be short lived...
