WWE: 10 Best "Worked Shoot" Promos Ever

1. The Pipe Bomb

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2JC8saqnEA This worked shoot just had to be number 1, CM Punk's unforgettable "pipe bomb" promo from 2011. This was great on so many levels, a believable promo that enhanced Punk's feud with Cena considerably. Such was the power of Punk's work here it created the WWE a new main event star in five minutes, and did it more effectively than five years worth of pushing ever could have done. Frustrated at years of being held back in the ring, Punk pretty much went for it when WWE told him he could cut a promo as an anti-authority figure. The comments were cutting €“ "I'd like to think this company would be better off when Vince McMahon is dead, but then his doofus son-in-law and idiot daughter will take over." The internet went crazy. Even the usually assured Wrestling Observer website didn't have a definitive answer as to if the promo were a work or a shoot. It was of course a fix, like everything that goes out over WWE television. Punk went backstage and shared high fives with Vince and Triple H over how great the segment was. It tells us something about WWE that they allow these sort of worked shoots to go out over their broadcast €“ Vince McMahon really does put the business first over his own ego.
