WWE: 10 Biggest Missed Opportunities In WrestleMania History

1. The Invasion Should Have Ended At WrestleMania 18

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xD0zt9XFs3Q To say the invasion of 2001 was a disappointment would be an understatement. What should have been the biggest angle of all time was squandered due to pettiness and an absolute refusal to respect the accomplishments of other wrestling companies. So instead we got a confused, jumbled and downright messy few months before the whole thing went up in flames at Survivor Series 2001. Without going in to full on fantasy booking, there's a few things that needed to happen to make The Invasion the success it deserved to be. Firstly, the ECW/WCW talent needed to be treated as equals to the WWE roster in order for them to be seen as a viable threat. For the most blatant example of talent misuse, just look at what they did to former world champion DDP during the stalker angle with The Undertaker. His career never recovered from that. The next thing would be to stretch the angle over a long period. This needed to be a slow burner with the alliance steadily gaining power in WWE, before Vince was cornered into putting it all on the line. Finally, it needed to end at Wrestlemania. The only place that should have ever been considered for the ending of such a significant angle is the showcase of the immortals. Not only would this allow them time to fully explore this juggernaut of a storyline, but it would have given Wrestlemania 18 a thrilling and unique direction. In terms of the card, little would need to be changed. Plenty of the matches booked happen to be between WCW/ECW and WWE guys anyway. The alliance angle, combined with the illusion that this could be the WWE's last night would make for an atmosphere like no other. It might even give Edge and Booker T a more compelling reason to fight other than a shampoo commercial. The Rock vs Hulk Hogan would end the night, with the future of wrestling on the line. The match they had nearly tore the roof off the Skydome. That added stipulation could have left Hogan staring at the stars.

I've been writing since I was fourteen and thought it might get girls to like me. It didn't. I should have learned guitar instead.
